The SHOOT
Teen Film Projects was started in 2006 by Island Arts, a Newport-based
community arts organization offering after-school arts programs.
SHOOT teaches teens the process of filmmaking using a hands-on approach. Using state of the art digital cameras and post-production equipment, teens learn how to write, shoot and edit their film in 12 weeks. Two classes run each year — one during the fall semester and one during the spring semester.
Each SHOOT film is screened during NIFF.
The film class is taught at Video & Vision at 654 Thames Street by Newport Filmmaker Rocco Michaluk and Artist Ben Ellcome.
Scholarships are available, please contact us for more information.
