Getting Here & Getting Around
Amtrak trains run to Kingston, RI, about 25 miles from Newport; and
to Providence, RI, about 30 miles from Newport. Train schedules from
Amtrak's Northeast corridor are available here. The train station codes
(which you will need to look up schedules by date) for Kingston and Providence
are KIN and PVD, respectively. You may also download a printable timetable
from Amtrak. You'll find a list of the Northeast

Driving Directions From New York, New Jersey
Take Interstate 95 North to Route 138 East (exit 3 around Hope Valley,
RI). Take Route 138 East to Jamestown Bridge. Go over Jamestown Bridge
(no toll) through Jamestown and over the Newport Bridge ($2.00 toll).
Cross Bridge, take first exit off bridge ( Scenic Newport).
Driving Directions From Boston & The Cape
Take Interstate 93 South out of Boston to Route 24 South. Follow Route
24 South through Fall River, Mass., and onto Aquidneck Island to Route
114 South through Portsmouth and Middletown to Newport. (Route 114
is called West Main Road in Portsmouth & Middletown; it becomes
Broadway at the Newport line.)
